I decided to make something different which is capable to turn the array at any weather condition and will last my lifetime. |

Assembled construction, the 3 phase 380VAC/1500VA motor with reductor and gearbox. Spacing plates to adjust the tension of the drive chain.

This means a drive shaft rotation at 2.5rpm. Because I use a drive sprocket of 16 tooth (Z=16) and a bearing drive sprocket of 95 tooth (Z=95) makes a second reduction of 1 at 5,94.

Total torque at the tower base is 23690Nm. More then 100 times the RC5B-3: 220Nm and 60 times stronger then the Orion OR-2800: 404Nm

Calculating the rotation speed: 143 seconds for one rotation. A simple formula to calculate your torque is: T=(P/rpm)*9550
